We still remember his thrilling Tchaikovsky concerto with the Menuhin Amateur Orchestra in the summer of 2023. Now, the young Swiss violinist Raphael Nussbaumer returns to the Gstaad Chapel with a beautifully crafted programme shaped entirely by the Czech musical tradition. Nussbaumer turns to Dvořák – represented by the much-loved Sonatina, especially cherished by young violinists – as well as to Dvořák’s son-in-law Josef Suk and Bohuslav Martinů, who was once supported by the Basel patron Paul Sacher and eventually passed away in Liestal in 1959.
