Two Pianos | Alessio Bax & Lucille Chung ID:
Kammermusik
Monday, 03. August 2026
7:30 p.m., Zweisimmen Church
A duo on stage and a couple in real life: Alessio Bax and Lucille Chung are among the most sought-after piano duos of our time. Since first meeting in 1997 on the sidelines of the Hamamatsu Competition in Japan, they have travelled the world together. For their debut at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, they present a programme brimming with temperament and elegance. Among the works for two pianos or piano four hands are original compositions as well as transcriptions. Time and again, we encounter sound worlds tinged with southern colour: Busoni meets Ravel and Debussy, Poulenc encounters the master of tango nuevo, Astor Piazzolla – a sparkling interplay of styles and moods.
